O-Ton (DM, WM)

O-Ton is a barbershop quartet founded in 2015. Because we don't all live in the same place and the distance between our outermost points is about 300 kilometers, we meet every six to eight weeks for a Sunday rehearsal in Hagen-Hohenlimburg. The day usually starts quite unspectacularly: a good breakfast, good spirits - four voices, finding each other again.
Musically, we come from barbershop, but we're curious across styles: alongside classic barbershop arrangements we also sing jazz swing and pop numbers - in short, anything we like and that delights us harmonically. Often these are songs originally shaped by powerful female voices, for example from the world of Ella Fitzgerald or Joni Mitchell. You can hear us both in competition programs and in concert programs.
By the way, our name came out of an early brainstorming phase for O-words: Original, overtone, earworm, ovations ... O-Ton! Original, right?
