Newphoria

By definition, euphoria is an exuberant state of mind. We would add: a perfectly pitched four-part harmony with a rich spectrum of overtones.

Newphoria consists of Martina, Anke, Katharina and Elisabeth. Four singers from Munich, with a combined total of more than 85 years’ experience in barbershop singing. We have been singing in this line-up since 2021 and devote ourselves with great seriousness to the important things in life: harmonies, overtones – and the question of whether there is any cake left.

We love ballads because they allow time for tension, for sound and for that moment when a chord suddenly becomes larger than the room. Overtones are not a product of chance, but a declared aim. We accept the slight risk of addiction.

Our rehearsals are structured. There’s coffee. There’s cake. There are four-part harmonies. Often in that order.

And we’re convinced: euphoria arises somewhere between ballads and the bakery.
