Barbershop in Germany!
Barbershop singing is a subspecies of a cappella music that was created in America at the beginning of the 20th century and has been cherished and cultivated since 1938 by the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America or simply the Barbershop Harmony Society. At least the male version.
However, the German Barbershop Association BinG! (Barbershop in Germany) is an organisation for German choruses and quartets in any, even mixed, line-up. With numerous events and activities, the association contributes to improving the exchange of experiences and knowledge, which has led to a significant increase in the quality of the groups - surely one of the reasons why barbershop music is becoming more and more well-known in the German a cappella scene.
